Hi everybody
I am running out of words to describe the fun we are having at the lake on Sunday mornings.
Once again the day started a little cold but soon warmed, up but with all the excitement of excellent Club 500 racing, we all soon forgot about the gradually warming conditions as the morning went on. By mid morning the sun shone and the members with slower and scale models turned up in their droves. In all we had around twenty five members present today. We also had dozens of the general public watching our fun to!
We had a competitive Club 500 race again this morning with lots of competitors taking part, with all the usual thrills of racing.
From now on Club 500 competitive racing will take place every fortnight so the next race will be on 1st April 2012, please make a note in your diaries, the reason for only having competitive races on a fortnightly basis is that it takes time for me to collate the results and publish them to the website. so I would ask for a little bit of sympathy for me Ahhhh!!!! in my efforts. We will all be able to race around the course as much as we want to, but we will only be scoring on race days, take note of this please.
Over on the landing stage we had a good crowd sailing tugs, steam launches and two Marblehead yachts in the control of Ian J and Dave R, well done to Dave R for retrieving his yacht with the rescue boat.
When all our batteries had run down and some of us had consumed their tea and toast we all left for the day.
See you all next Sunday or possibly on Wednesday(if retired or otherwise).
Christine (Secretary)
